Hello everyone!

Gibson Library had a "groundbreaking" moment this morning. Literally! Aren't I funny? Lots of Gibsonites were able to attend as well as some from other branches and many other spectators. It was great to be a part of the beginning of Gibson 2.0 (is that going to be a new, flashy sign?) and we are all grateful for this chance to move our cramped and somewhat dirty selves to a new building! Joan took some pictures there today and if you had your camera out and were able to get some shots, feel free to add yours to the following folder on flint. Or, let me have your pictures and I will upload them for you!

Also! Some exciting news... Allyson will be introducing a new blog that will journal Gibson 2.0 starting with the groundbreaking, to the new building and thoughts on how Gibson Library has become such an important part of the downtown Henderson community. Look for more info this week in your emails, but here is a sneak peek: www.gibsonlibrary20.blogspot.com.

That was a great event and I'm proud to say that I was there for the groundbreaking. :)

By the way, here's an article in the LV Sun about it: http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2009/aug/18/henderson-officials-break-ground-26-million-librar/
