2010 Book Challenge

35. When God Winks by Squire Rushnell Not as inspirational as I had hoped but still interesting.

36. The Tale of Despereaux by Kate DeCamillo Not sure how I've missed this in the past, but I had never read it... figured it was about time that I did.

I'm now reading Witch and Wizard by James Paterson, Miracles by Karen Kingsbury and a series by Beth Wiseman

2010 Book Challenge

32. Sizzle by Julie Garwood Great romantic thriller, it kept my interest right up to the end.

33. The Telling by Beverly Lewis This was a wonderful conclusion to a great series. This held special significance for me since I was adopted as an infant and I also searched for my bio-logical mother.

34. Days of Gold by Jude Devereaux Historical romance/suspense set in 17th Century Scotland. I loved the characters and the details about the class system.

2010 Book Challenge

31. Morning's Refrain by Tracie Peterson I enjoyed this book as well as everything I've ever read by Tracie Peterson. This was centered around the society in Sitka, Alaska in the late 1800's. A love story as well as interesting family dynamics.

I tried to get into "Life Sentences" by Linda Emond and gave up, it just didn't grab me.
I also started "The Happiness Project" which I loved but ran out of time and someone else was waiting for it, I will be checking it out again to finish it. I'm in the middle of "The Telling" and "Sizzle".

2010 Book Challenge

29. True Blue by David Baldacci - this is definitely worth the time to read. Very fast pace, with intrigue, twists, turns and a couple of the most incredible escapes I've ever read. Would make a great movie!

30. An Honest Love by Kathleen Fuller - this is my first time reading this author, but it definitely won't be the last. I loved the richness of this story with wonderful believable characters, of course Amish Fiction is one of my favorites.

Now reading Morning's Refrain by Tracie Peterson, Miracles by Karen Kingsbury and The Happiness Project by Gretchen Craft Rubin

Fave Five Saturday

1. School is almost done for the semester (2 weeks)
2. Things are starting to work out for my mom (knock on wood)
3. Ready to start reading books for fun and not because I have to (textbooks)
4. Dad's headstone finally came in.
5. Can't think of another, so I'll say... the semester is almost over with.
Fave Five for My Friday

1. National Library Week! It's been neat seeing all sorts of attention focused on libraries. I watched a bit of the Neil Gaiman interview and that was pretty good. Still haven't watched a librarian movie yet -- will see if we have one at GRE today.

2. Country has come to Vegas this week! Sunday is the Academy of Country Music Awards show, hosted by Reba McEntire, and country superstars are having a variety of free concerts throughout the valley. Hope to save up to go to the actual award show next year!

3. The Masters in Augusta. I'm not a huge golf fan, but my step-dad is and I'm glad to see Phil Mickelson won, especially after what's going on with his wife and mother. I'd love to go to Augusta to see it live one of these days...

4. My niece and goddaughter, Juliana, will be receiving her First Holy Communion in early May and at a meeting with her mom and her CCD teacher before confession with the priest, Juliana asked if she could have butter on the cracker (the host). :D

5. I've been moving along on my reading list. I particularly enjoy the Chicken Soup for the Soul books because of the bite-sized servings, good for 15 minute breaks. I'm nearly 1/3rd of the way to 50!

Have a good weekend!
