Vegas Pictures

Monte Carlo Fire
I took this picture from the I-15 on the day the Monte Carlo burned in January 2008. While we all know now that the damage was only cosmetic, when the flames first began it was a rather terrifying sight. At this point the fire trucks hadn't even made it to the scene yet. Judging by the looks of terror on the faces in cars slamming on their breaks around me, I'm thinking many were fearful of a repeat of the 1980 MGM Grand fire. Thankfully that was not the case!

Aftermath of Monte Carlo Fire
A couple hours later I was able to take a picture of the aftermath as I was driving back home from class at UNLV.

Project 365: Day 186
More recently, I was driving down the I-15 at the same time as the Moulin Rouge burned (Mary 2009). Why am I always on the freeway when casinos are burning?
