Fave Five Friday by JBV
1. I remembered the name of the town in Back to the Future at trivia this week. (It's Hill Valley.) Remembering obscure facts about movies is so satisfying!
2. I just got back from Happy Hour with in-laws at BJs. It's good when you have something food-wise in your head that you want, and you get it. Tonight it was Black Angus Sliders. OK, this is stress eating at it's finest, but they were so good, and nothing else would do.
3. I started swim lessons this week. I never learned! I've worn glasses since age 2, and didn't get contacts until 13, so I missed that crucial elementary school swim lesson time the first time around. I drank half the pool on Monday, and couldn't quite get the breathing thing down yet, but it was super fun and I'm so excited to add something else to my exercise repertoire.
4. I am glad for Eliza for encouraging us to keep this blog up, and for Justin for issuing the 50 Books in 2010 Challenge Smackdown. (Now if I could just finish book 4...)
5. My oldest niece turned 18 today! She is unusual and bright and musical and talented and I couldn't be more proud. She's flying the coop and headed for college in the fall...and then, knowing her, straight to New York City just as soon as she can. Happy Birthday Haley!
50 Book Smackdown
4. One Thousand White Women...I'm still working on this one. A good, but slow, read. I've got about 40 pages left, so perhaps next week I'll be able to report that I finished it. Fingers crossed!
