Free Rice, HDPL Style!
http://www.freerice.com
This idea popped into my head over the weekend. I'm sure all of you have heard of FreeRice and played it a few times, especially when it first came out in '07. It's a website where you get quizzed on your vocabulary and your prize is that you donate 10 grains of rice (used to be 20) to the poor all around the world. It's been updated now and there are a load of subjects from math to languages to identifying pieces of art.
The problem is is that alone, it's really hard to see any difference. Therefore, I was thinking it'd be neat if we could set a goal (maybe a million or two grains of rice?) and make a post week to week how far we're coming along. Any time you would play (at home, on a break, at lunch), you would simply comment with the current week's post and then I'd add them all up and see how we go.
Before we'd start this, however, I'd like to see how many would be interested, so please comment and let me know what you think.
