Early Fav Five (maybe it'll make up for all the ones I've missed!)
--Things I like about working in Outreach -- not in any particular order!

1. The Galleria Library, where, while at lunch, I was able to drop my watch off to have the battery replaced, shop for frames at the LensCrafters, and eat--all without going outside! Cool gig!

2. Being in a different place almost every day, doing something different almost every day.

3. Because of the nature of the job, getting to know and see (even if not regularly) so many of our coworkers from all departments. It has become more difficult to really meet everyone in the past couple of years, but I guess that's also part of the nature of things, whether I like it or not!

4. Everyone in my department, and our honorary Outreach Team member (cannot divulge who this is, for fear of someone finding out! --hey, that might be a good/bad first line of my new novel!). Also the fact that we have good communication, since we have to have some knowledge of most things in most departments.

5. The "Great Unknowns" about Outreach work....as in, we think we're doing this thing, in this place, with these people, for this audience, and find out we were wrong. For example, the Clown shows up unannounced, dressed as Old MacDonald (or Dora the Explorer shows up as Sponge Bob Square Pants). Or, go out prepared to do a storytime for preschoolers, and get teens and parents.
